Pauline Julien Obituary

JULIEN,
Pauline H.

Born March 30, 1923 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Milton and Grace Parris; passed away April l9, 2011 in Spokane. Pauline came out west as a child, just as portrayed in the move "The Grapes of Wrath." Her father drove one truck and her brother Am drove the other. They settled in a small town called Maringo on the Tucannon River (no longer there) south of Pomeroy, WA. She grew up during the depression. Pauline went to school in a small school house that had grades 1 through 8 in Maringo then to high school in Pomeroy. She milked eight cows before school then did the same again after school. She worked at Geiger during WWII. She was the base commander's secretary at Fairchild after WWII. Pauline met George Julien after the war and they married April 19, 1947. They started their own company in 1955, building it from one small truck to what it is today. They lost two children and raised three. Pauline is survived by her husband, George Julien; son, Larry Julien; daughters: Catherine Julien, Sharon Young; grandchildren: Marty Julien, Jess Julien, Julieanne Young, Dallas Young and all the great-granchildren. We have to say that we had the best Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend on earth!!! We can't wait to be with her again. Visitation will be Monday, April 25, at 5:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 26, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paschal Catholic Church, 2523 N. Park Road, Spokane Valley. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N. Wall St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 119 S. Howard, Spokane WA 99201. Uncle George and Aunt Pauline's home was my favorite place to visit as a young person growing up in Spokane. The home was beautiful and it was so obvious there was a lot of love there. Uncle George, Larry, Cathy, and Sharon--- you share with her a special place in our hearts.

Aunt Pauline always treated my brothers, sisters and I with such gentleness and warmth. She was a true lady and I loved going to her beautiful home. I will never forget the way she and Unlce George teased each other and realizing how very much they loved each other. They were true buddies. You are in our prayers Uncle George, Larry, Cathy and Sharon.
