Peggy Dodds Obituary


DODDS, Peggy Jean

Peggy Jean (Kitchin) Dodds, 93, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2011 in Spokane, WA. She was born February 12, 1918 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to Alice and Fred Kitchin. The family moved back to the family home in Sandpoint, ID when she was three months old. After graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1936 she attended the University of Idaho. At age 15 she met Peter F. Dodds at the home of Mert and Jim Curtis who were close mutual friends. On December 22, 1938 they were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and honey- mooned at the Dodds family cabin on Lake Pend Orielle. She is survived by her five children, Diana of Spokane, WA and Cathy, Pete, Debbie and Wendy, all of Albuquerque, NM. Her eight grandchildren are Kira, Fred, Monica, Deven, Brent, Hillary, Whitney and Kelley; and great-grandchildren Skyler, Alex, Riley and Javan. Nieces Peggy and Ann; nephews Mike and Rick; sister-in-law Janet Dodds. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and cherished grand- daughter Kristin Ann; brother Fred and sister Catherine; brothers-in- law Al and George Dodds; sister-in-law Carol. She retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, new Mexico after many years of service. A Mass at St. Joseph's will be celebrated July 23rd with a wake following at the family cabin.
Above all, her greatest life achievement was her prized close family.
