Robert Hemingway Obituary


HEMINGWAY, Robert Lee

Bob passed away on March 12, 2011 after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Bob was born September 28, 1931 in Spokane, WA. He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Bob graduated from
Eastern Washington University with a Bachelors degree in education and a Masters degree in economics. He taught high school for 30 years in the Highline School District in Seattle, WA. Bob was an avid boater and member of the Three Tree Point yacht club. After retiring he traded in his skipper's cap for a life on the open road in a motor home. Also in retirement he settled in Liberty Lake, WA with his wife of 53 years, Vi. He is survived by his wife and their three children, Brad, Brian and AnnMarie Rabe; his brother Ralph; seven grand- children and one great-granddaughter. Bob was a loving husband, father and friend. He always had a great story to tell and wisdom to share... he will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 16th at 2:00pm at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 15319 E. 8th Ave., Spokane Valley, WA. Memorial donations may be made to Spokane Valley Hospital Volunteer Scholarship Fund, 12606 E. Mission Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99216. The family would like to thank the 3rd floor nursing staff at Valley Hospital and the wonderful Dr. Danko for Bob's excellent care and comfort.
