REISENAUER, Zita G. (Welle)

Zita G. Welle Reisenauer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at her daughter Pauline's home in Lewiston where she resided for the last seven years. She was 97.
Zita was born June 23, 1913 at Uniontown, WA to John J. and Agnes Fuchs Welle. Her father John Welle owned a hardware, harness and shoe repair shop along with being the local undertaker of Uniontown. Agnes Fuchs Welle died at the young age of 39, leaving nine children. John they married Elizabeth Brockendorf, who was a loving mother to all of the children.
Zita married Paul M. Reisenauer on November 21, 1933 at St. Boniface Church in Uniontown. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before he passed away in 1999.
They farmed at Colton until 1944, then moved to the Thorncreek area where they farmed until 1960 when their son Gerald took over the farm. They then moved to Moscow where Zita was employed as a cashier at Fonk's Dime Store for many years until retiring. They resided at the Good Samaritan Retirement Center for many years.
She and Paul spent their retirement years volunteering, playing bingo and traveling to many countries throughout the world. They were members of the Moscow Roadrunners Club. She and Paul were avid dancers and would dance weekly at the Moscow Moose Lodge. She was an avid bowler and is a member of the bower's Hall of Fame in Moscow-Pullman. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moscow, the Altar Society and a Catholic Daughter. She was a fifty year member of the Women of the Moose in Moscow.
She is survived by her five children; Gerald and Judy of Moscow, David and Theresa of Medical Lake, WA, Justine and Tom Osborne, Judy Dahmen and Pauline and Jim Spangler, all of Lewiston. In addition, she is survived by 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren, and a sister Marie Evett of Lewiston. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, four sisters and four grandchildren.
A Rosary service will be conducted on Friday at 7:00 P.M. at Short's Funeral Chapel in Moscow. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Uniontown on Saturday at 11:00 AM. She will be buried at St. Gall Catholic Cemetery in Colton, WA and a dinner will follow at the Community Center in Uniontown.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Mary's School Foundation or to St. Augustine's Foundation of Moscow or to a charity of the donor's choice.
