Grant Hoyt Obituary

HOYT, Grant Charles (Age 49) Grant, the seventh of eight children, was born on January 30, 1961, to Katherine and the late Delmar Hoyt, and is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kelly, and their 13-year-old daughter, Emily. He passed away on April 30, 2010, in Rathdrum, Idaho. Surviving family members include his mother, Katherine Hoyt; siblings, Dennis (wife Susan), Jean Magers(husband Jefty), Brad (wife Judie), Curt (partner Janet Rohr), Ralph (wife Kimberly), Karl (wife Nicole), Harold and several nieces and nephews. Grant loved working hard and fast doing the work of two men and a boy on every task. A construction worker by trade and a gardener at heart he loved the outdoors, planting trees and flowers everywhere he could. Dirt bikes were one of his favorite activities. The combination of mud, dirt and speed was exhilarating for him, as was walking and running everywhere he went. Grant was known for his bright smile, joyful spirit, giving heart and a deep love of family. Through good times and bad his devotion to his wife Kelly never wavered. But the joy of his life was his daughter, Emily. The mention of her name filled him with glowing pride. Bound by love, forgiveness and acceptance, Grant's family and friends will miss himforever. There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Stanislaus Parish in Rathdrum at 11:00 AM, May 22, 2010, with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Anyone who knew and loved Grant is welcome.
