Dorothy HIMEBAUGH Obituary

HIMEBAUGH,
Dorothy Sidney

Was born September 6th, 1926 in Los Angeles, California. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 14th, 2012 in Spokane Valley. Dorothy is preceded in death by her son Michael and her beloved spouse of 66 years Donovan. Don passed away in February. Dorothy was heartbroken without dad by her side. Dorothy and Don moved to Spokane in 1996 to be near their family. Dorothy loved and cherished her family. Dorothy's family was the focus and center of her life. She valued and embraced every family moment. She was the heart of our home. Her greatest joy was when her family gathered together. She especially loved Christmas. Dorothy was a strong, courageous, loving and sweet spirited woman with a deep passion for life. Dorothy would never let you say goodbye when you parted from her. She would only accept a promising "see you later". She is survived by her children, Denise Jamison, Diane Christian, David and Douglas Himebaugh; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mother we love you. We are grateful and blessed that you are our mother. You taught us it is never goodbye. We shall "see you later". Until we meet again, rest in peace in the arms of love. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 5th, 2012 St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spokane Valley at 1:30PM.

Hi Dorothy - I wanted you to know you are sorely missed. Your wonderful daughter, Diane, talks of you often. She is my best friend and you raised her to be a kind, loving, fun person! Congratulations!
In this day and age women are not celebrated for their unending care, guidance and love of children. You did a great job with all your children and the world is better for it. I am celebrating you! Your children thank you, your grandkids thank you and every generation forward will be influenced by you. You are remembered; this is your legacy. Judy W

David and Family. I had the privilege of spending the day with your Mom and Dad when me and the boys from the men's twelve step house packed them up and loaded them into a large u haul truck for their move to be with you guys.
