I got to know Ron through Crooks and Liars. He really was a wonderful man and I know that I and so many others at Crooks and Liars will miss him. To Ron's family, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that you receive the peace, comfort, and strength you'll need in the time to come.

Ron was a hugely popular member at the website Crooks and Liars.
He was an important, well-loved part of our family and we heard from him nearly every evening in the Open Thread.
The site put up the Open Thread in his honor tonight, to let as many of his far flung friends know and say kind things about a lovely man.

Hey ron, this is mudshark from CrooksandLiars.com
I'd like to say how sorry I am to ron's family. (ron spelled his name at C&L with the lower case letter) He was a very nice man. You wouldn't think that people would get to know each other onlineBut, I knew ron. He was a mellow easy going guy. I remember when he lost his Mom. The angle cloud. Well, ron has one now too. I'm so sorry. He will be missed. By a lot of people. rest well brother.

I was out of town when Ron's obituary was in the paper. Jack McBride told me yesterday that he got to visit Ron a couple of weeks ago. I had not seen Ron for many years. He was a nice fellow. I had a very pleasant conversation with him last summer at our 50 year high school reunion. Hugs to our friend Opal and our condolences to the family.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

I am a long time friend of Ron's and we graduated from High School together. I now reside in the Philippines and read on Facebook from some of our other classmates that Ron was going in for heart surgery. I was in hopes it was just a routine surgery and all would be OK. I am very saddened and surprised, and wish to extend my sincere condolences to his family and many close friends. He was a great guy, very good friend and will be missed by many. Charlie Johnson
