Herman MACKEY Obituary

MACKEY, Herman III "Tre" (Age 30) Tre was born December 15, 1982 in Anaheim, CA and passed away on May 3, 2013 in Kygyzstan. He was married on December 30, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Megan Mackey and had one daughter, Peyton Jade Mackey (two years). Tre loved his job and couldn't wait to get to Fairchild after a few years in a special duty assignment in Las Vegas. He served in the USAF for 12 years and was originally from Bakersfield, California before being stationed at Fairchild AFB where he resided for the last nine months. He was always the one to light up a room with his smile and humor. You always knew where he was in the squadron because you could hear him singing or whistling. He was one of the NCOs that all the airmen felt comfortable talking to and he was always there like a big brother to them. He was constantly lending a helping hand to anyone that needed one. He enjoyed organizing family BBQs and holiday parties for those who weren't able to go home to their families or had a loved one deployed. Tre is survived by his mother, Debra Mackey; his sisters: Donna Ramirez, Phyllicia Mackey, Aiesha Mackey; and his brother, Tristan Mackey. A memorial service for the public will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the INB Performing Arts Center. Please visit Tre's online memorial at www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com, and leave a message of condolence. Arrangements have been entrusted to

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Mackey Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to troops in Afghanistan this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Herman Mackey III US Air Force Technical Sergeant. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Herman will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

I Salute You.

I saw Tre's passing on the news and recognized him instantly from Walter Stiern Middle School where Tre was a student library aide. I supervised these students. He did indeed light up the room with his smile and his humor! Our country lost a wonderful young man, but we can be proud he died for us. Many condolences to his family from Tina Gerber, Bakersfield City School District.
