Gary BLANTON Obituary

BLANTON, Gary Lee, III You can't live a perfect day without doing Something for someone who will never be able to repay you. John Wooden Gary Lee Blanton III passed away peacefully at 12:50 p.m. on April 18, 2015 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA in his paternal aunt's arms. Gary was born on October 24, 2009 in Port Angeles, WA. Gary was called to the side of our Lord and to join his late mother Leslie and Father Gary Jr. at the very young age of 5 years old. Gary was an enrolled member of the Hoh Tribe and a descendant from the Quiluete, located on the peninsula of WA. Gary is survived by three birth siblings Vida 17, Skylar 4, Destiny 1; paternal grandparents Gary Blanton Sr. Barbara Davis; Aunt Cynthia; cousins Devonn, Landyn, Liam; uncles Leo Blanton and Thomas Archibald; cousins Kaleb, Miley, Joshua, Angelinna, and Tyler. He is also survived by maternal grandfather Richard Sherriff Sr., Uncle Richard Jr., Aunt Melissa, cousins Cynthia, Sylvia, Rubie, Richard III, Olivia, Brandon, Brieann, Tyler, Terra, and Keishaun. In addition, he is survived by his Great Aunt Mary, Great Uncle John, numerous second cousins, many other relatives and friends who loved Gary dearly. After Gary's parents' passing, Gary along with his younger siblings Skylar and Destiny, went to live with their Guardian's Aunt Cynthia, Uncle Ian and cousins Devonn, Landyn and Liam in Chattaroy, WA. Although Gary and all the children were cousins, the love they shared for one another blossomed into more than that they truly were brothers and sister. The children gained a whole new family -- Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins who adore them. With Gary's free spirit and radiant smile he helped fill their lives with love, laughter and amazing memories. Gary loved going to school at Chattaroy Elementary, participating on the T-ball Team the Lug Nuts, a sport he enjoyed. Gary loved to be outside interacting with his siblings, cousins, friends and his animals. Some of Gary's favorite possessions were his Mickey Mouse, Ninja Turtles and Toy Cars. His favorite foods were pizza and salad. Gary was a very affectionate boy, he loved giving and receiving hugs and kisses. Most importantly he loved his Aunt Cynthia. Gary would always wake up to the sound of her voice and he would say "Good Morning Mommy, I LOVE YOU! The bond between Gary and Cynthia was full of love and affection. Private family viewing will be Wednesday April 29, 2015 at 3pm at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe St, Spokane WA, 99201. Thursday, April 30, 2015 family and friends will gather for a viewing at 2 p.m. with the service at 3 p.m., at Mount Spokane Church, 6311 E. Mt Spokane Park Dr., Mead, WA 99021. A repast will follow at the church. Pastor Bob will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome and encouraged to attend and celebrate Gary's life. Condolences can be sent to the church. The family would like to thank the numerous medical and emergency staff for their compassionate efforts and care they provided to Gary and the family during this tragedy. We would like to honor Gary for his heroic contribution of organ donation. Because, of him, five lives will be saved.

My heart goes out to the family. Death is tragic enough but it is truly heartbreaking to lose someone so young. The pain, grief, and feelings of helplessness can sometimes seem unbearable. During such grievous times words seem to be of little comfort. However, there are words that can comfort those who are mourning as no other words can those of our loving Heavenly Father who created us and has the desire and the ability to undo the effects of death. At Hosea 13:14 He promises to empty the grave and redeem our loved ones from death. Our tears of pain will be replaced with tears of joy! My prayer is that God will strengthen you and give you a measure of peace until His promises are realized.
