Janet TOMBOW Obituary

TOMBOW, Janet Gayle 67, died June 29, 2014, at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. Janet was born in Cleveland, OH, Feb. 24, 1947 to Norma Jean (Banks) Wallace and Edward Tombow. She grew up in California, and spent most of her working career in management and operations for several nationally known companies specializing in the payroll tax industry. She wrote her first book, Stolen But Not Lost, to share her life story and the search for (and wonderful reunion with), her birth mother. This book led to a second career as an author and inspirational speaker. Her next two books, Watch Out For Miracles and Miracles Matter tell the inspiring stories of others. She was hard at work on another book when she became ill with an aggressive form of Wegener's Disease. Jan loved the Lord with all her heart, and was a very active member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She was known for her sharp mind, keen wit, positive outlook, and giving spirit. She loved speaking, reading, travelling, and especially serving the Lord in her local church. Jan is survived by two nieces and several cousins, along with many close friends. A private burial service, near her beloved mother, was held at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church, 1430 Belleair Road, Clearwater at 11am Saturday, July 12th. Memorial contributions can be made to Lakeview Baptist Church or the Humane Society. www.sylvanabbey.com

Janet was truly one of the finest women I have ever met and exemplified Christianity.
She was kind, giving ,gracious and forgiving.
I do remember she adored her nieces. She has been greatly missed.

Jan was quite simply put, the finest woman I have ever known. Praise God for her life and the countless numbers of people who she inspired and touched. More than this, she exemplified the redemptive powers of God's abiding love and the transformational powers of forgiveness of self and others.
