Such a fine man. Oh, how he loved to sing for Jesus!

Carl Staton was a member of the Town N' Country Church of God in Tampa, Florida. It is no longer that church, but it sits at 4411 Kelly Rd.

Carl was a gentle, kind man, and he loved singing for the Lord. He and his wife, Janell, set a high example for faithfulness to the church.

When called upon, even though he was not fully in his element, he would lead the choir or the congregation in singing. He set a good example in being a willing worker.

He was best known as a soloist, and I believe he would have been happy to sing every single service, so much did he love singing for the Lord.

Most important, he was a real-deal Christian. I never once heard him say or act in any way not consistent with being a Christian man.

He had had his heart broken, but in God's good time, he and Janell found each other and made a happy home.

I treasure the memory of this man, and I hope that all the family knows that they, too, are loved.
