Paul Troy Obituary

Paul D. Troy
Paul D. Troy of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully on June 23, 2017 surrounded by his devoted family, at the age of 86.
Born on August 6, 1930 in Dupont, PA, he was the youngest son of the late Paul Trojnacki and Mary (Cebula) Trojnacki, who emigrated from Poland prior to WWI.
Paul served three years in the Coast Guard, with sea duty aboard the Cutter Mackinac. He received his BS and MBA from New York University, and served as a faculty member of NYU and the University of CT.
Paul was the President of Troy Insurance, Inc. which he founded 58 years ago in 1959, as well as the President of Troy Real Estate, Inc.
He was former President of The Polish American Cultural Society of Stamford, as well as the former President of The Stamford Insurance Board, The Stamford Board of Realtors, The Shippan Point Association and The Stamford Exchange Club.
Paul is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Stephanie (Skiba), their two daughters; Susan (Troy) Brace and Stephanie Laura (Troy) Rubin, grandchildren; Evan and Daniel Brace (father Steve Brace), Sydney and Alexander Rubin, and son-in-law David Rubin.
Paul was predeceased by brothers; Frank, Joseph, Stanley and John, and sisters; Charlotte (Turkis) and Helen (White). As the last surviving sibling of 7 children, Paul was the patriarch of an extended family and is survived by countless nieces and nephews.
Paul was active in church and community and was a long standing member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church as well as The Stamford Yacht Club, The Knights of Columbus and The Halloween Yacht Club. His favorite pastimes included deep sea fishing, reading, telling jokes (some not too funny) and boating.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 8, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's name to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or online at www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford, CT. Should you wish to leave a condolence message for the family online you may visit www.bosakfuneralhome.com or on facebook at www.facebook.com/bosakfuneralhome.
