Henry Gladke Obituary
Age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Hank was born in Elmira January 29, 1932, the only child of Jack S. and Esther (Wladis) Gladke. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Maureen Padia Gladke; son Jack M. Gladke, Keuka Lake; sister-in-law Sharon Stone, Colorado Springs CO; along with several cousins. Hank was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He operated Gladke TV and Appliances, sold insurance for Monarch Life Insurance Company and sold dental supplies for Leventhal Dental. Hank was an avid New York Yankee fan. His favorite hobby was fishing with Keuka Lake being his preferred spot. Hank was a long time Rotarian, and a life time member of the Elmira Elks Club. He was a very charitable man helping out many organizations and military service groups. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held there on Friday, March 28, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. Burial, with military honors, to follow at Sons of Abraham Cemetery in Woodlawn Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Hank will be dearly missed. I always enjoyed talking to him. I'm sure Joe (Bud) will be sadden. The Yankees will miss him too, but heaven gets to hear his great stories.

My deepest sympathies on this sad day. Even today, more than 45 years after I delivered my last newspaper, I still remember those days fondly, when you would invite me in for something to eat or just to hang out and talk about the Yankees. Dear Mo' and Jack,

The Gladke Family:
Always will remember Meeting Hank in the Elmira Rotary Club, and the time we had an election bet and I lost. So I had to push Hank in a wheel barrow from main & water streets to the Rotary Club meeting. It made national publicity. You couldn't have a better friend than Hank! God Speed good friend. He greatly loved his wife and was so proud of his son, Jack.
