Mary Lou Davey Obituary

DAVEY, Mary Lou
Formerly of Horseheads, NY, passed away at her home in Franklinton, NC on Friday, August 14, 2009, at the age of 64. Born in Waverly, NY, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Alice Norris. Mary Lou was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Cliff Thompson, of Horseheads, NY. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry; two daughters, Janel Carroll (Michael) of Creedmoor, NC, Jennifer Allen (Paul) of Wilmington, NC; three grandchildren, Brandon and Tyler Carroll and Hannah Allen; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Donna Davey of Mansfield, PA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Robert and Phyllis Roulo of Portville, NY; loving nieces and nephews in Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania; along with several additional family members and close friends. Mary Lou and Jerry resided in Horseheads, NY most of their married life, moving to NC in 2006 to be closer to their daughters and families. Mary Lou's loving husband of 42 years, Jerry, was by her side at passing and throughout her five-year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Mary Lou worked briefly for Westinghouse, although the majority of her working career was at Broad Street School in Horseheads, NY. Mary Lou had countless qualities and her easy-going, kind personality attracted numerous friends through out her life, who she sorely missed following her move to NC. A memorial service is tentatively scheduled in Elmira, NY and will be announced at a later date.

To All of Mary Lou's family,
Please be assured that all the love and care you gave Mary Lou is still with her. We are recent friends of your family but we mourn with you for the seemingly unfair hand dealt to her and you all. Only God knows why her "golden" were so brief. Sounds like she left a lifetime of beautiful memories. She was very special.

Jerry, Jen, and Janelle. Mary Lou was the sister I never had. You all know how much she meant to me and all of the great times we had together. The neighborhood has not been the same since you moved. We are so glad that we spent time with her in Ashville in April and just recently when you came back to Horseheads. She was so fortunate to have such a supportive, loving, and caring family. Our prayers are with you. Diane, Eric, and Josh (her godson) Wood
