Fred Wheaton Obituary

Fred S. Age 69, of Montour Falls, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2004, at his home. He was born on November 14, 1934 in Montour Falls, NY, the son of the late Clyde and Lulu Wheaton. Fred is survived by his wife of 49 years, Clara Landmesser Wheaton. He is also survived by his children; son, Fred and Mary Wheaton of Montour Falls, NY; and daughters, Clara and Ted Pike of Odessa, NY, Mary and Bill Rice of Watkins Glen, NY, Florence and Terry Wheatcraft of Addison, NY, Carol Wheaton of Corning, NY, and Michelle and Paul Holley of Westfield, NY; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother, Clyde and Helen Wheaton of Montour Falls, NY; sister, Mary Rappleye of Watkins Glen, NY. Fred worked as a mechanic at Dundee Motors, Clute Motors and retired from Schuyler County Highway Dept. in May of 2000 after 19 years of service. He was known for being a hard worker at home and the work place. He also enjoyed making maple syrup and spending time with his family. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 534 Church St., Odessa, NY, on Wednesday, May 12, 2004, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. and where his funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2004, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Sheila Price will officiate. Interment Montour Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Schuyler County Ambulance Association, Odessa Rescue and Fire Department or Seneca Santa.
