Irving Cumberland Obituary
He graduated from South Dorchester High School class of 1972. On June 24, 1973, he married the former Juanita McDuffie. Mr. Cumberland was a welder with Cambridge International and retired in September 2016. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Cumberland was a member of several hunting clubs.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita A. Cumberland of Crapo; two daughters, Patricia Cumberland and companion Joseph Phillips of Toddville, and Chasity Blades and husband Gary of Woolford; a son, Irving Cumberland III and wife Brandy of Wingate; five grandchildren, Joshua Blades, Brooke Blades, Kori Cumberland, Irving Cumberland IV and Nora Cumberland; three sisters, May Sones, Viola Yourman and Rose Metler; and a brother, Jerry Cumberland Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Cumberland is preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Friend and Christina Stinchcomb; and a brother, Robert Cumberland.
Pallbearers will be Richard Warfield, William Cannon, Jerry Cumberland Sr., Jerry Cumberland Jr., Mike Kennedy and John Grafton III.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Joel Beiler officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
