Otoway Groves Obituary
O. William Groves Otoway William "Bill" Groves, 80 of Remington, VA died on Dec. 5, 2010 at University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born on Nov. 16, 1930 at Bealeton, VA a son of the late Otaway Albert Groves and Pearl Smith Groves. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife- Mary Wharton Groves; his siblings- Virgie G. Leach, Elva G. Embrey, Evans M. Groves, Albert M. Groves, Maxie G. Samuels, Clifford E. Groves, Calvin R. Groves, and Mary P. Wood.
Mr. Groves was a graduate of the Bealeton High School and worked as a building contractor in the Town of Warrenton for a time. With his father and brother Evans, he joined the family lumber and hardware business in Remington- Groves Hardware in 1956. He, his brother John and nephew Paul own the family-operated business. He was a charter member of the Remington Lions Club and was a member of the Remington Baptist Church and the Southern Fauquier Business Association.
He is survived by his siblings- Elizabeth G. Hoffman, Remington, VA, Dorothy G. Utz, Culpeper, VA, John F. Groves, Remington, VA., Alice G. Hanson, Virginia Beach, VA and Russell L. Groves of Harrisonburg, VA.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Thursday at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton where funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 10 at 2:00 PM. Rev. M. Peyton Embrey will officiate. Interment Remington Cemetery.

Life in Fauquier just isn't the same without Billy and Mary....I too, am grateful for the wonderful memories and to the Groves family for always making me feel like a part of the family.

It is a sad day that Billy isn't here with us anymore. I'm grateful for all of the wonderful memories with him and Mary. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend and will be missed. Unfortunately, travel plans made long ago will keep me from attending the viewing and the service. My thoughts and prayers will be with the family. Warmest Regards and Deepest Sympathy to all.......
