Mr. Hitt was like a father to me growing up. My family lived on his farm many years. We gathered eggs picked strawberries and got in to a lot of trouble from time to time. He will be missed.

I will remember Claude as just a nice guy who always had time for everyone. It was always nice to see him at the Culpeper United Methodist Church, in his normal balcony seat. He was a man I admired greatly.
