Sandra Laverne Jackson Briggs Williams Sandra Laverne Jackson Briggs Williams departed this life on September 3, 2010 at the Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Sandra was born on August 14, 1952 in Washington, D.C. She was the daughter of the late Marion Louise Murray and Lewis James Jackson. Sandra's adopted parents were the late Nellie and Robert Briggs. She was educated in Culpeper County. Sandra was employed by IBM in Manassas for 18 years. She was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church until her illness in 2007.

Sandra is survived by her husband Roger Williams; two daughters, Michelle Paige (Johnny) and Leslie Williams; two grandchildren, Eric Williams of Remington and Stephanie Nicole Paige of Richmond, Virginia; two sisters, Joyce Diamond of Falls Church, Virginia and Joan Faulks of Fairfax, Virginia; one brother, Garland Diamond of Northern Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews and beloved friends. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her son, Robert Lewis Williams.

The family will receive friends and family Thursday, September 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. at W.C. Thompson Funeral Home, Culpeper.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday, September 10, 2010 at Antioch Baptist Church, Culpeper at 11 a.m. to 12 noon for the viewing and the service will begin at noon. Reverend Frank Lewis, of Antioch Madison, Virginia will be conducting and officiating the service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Dr., Suite 104, Danvers, MA 01923-1389. Arrangements by W.C. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc.
