Connie,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Terry's passing from my sister who lives in Colorado. Terry and I spent our youth in the Dutch Flats area west of Mitchell and I still remember fondly the great times we had growing up together. He was a true friend who I really enjoyed being around. I still remember the many days we spent playing chess and other games at his house, riding bikes, staying overnight at each others homes, or just hanging out. Where does the time go? It seems like yesterday we were in grade school at Fairview #34 and Mitchell High School. My prayers are with you and your family during this time. God bless and keep you strong.
Also, Terry and I were related in that his Aunt Margie Graham was married to my Uncle Gerald Graham (my mother's brother).

Connie,
I am a friend of Julie's from Lincoln and I wanted to let you know how sorry I was to hear about Terry. I know Julie loved him very much and everyone will miss him. Julie is such a wonderful woman, I can only imagine what a great dad Terry was. My family is praying for you and your family.

To the family of Terry Gompert, I extend my heartfelt sympathies.I had the honor of meeting Mr. Gompert in 2009 at the Nebraska Sustainable Farming Conference in Grand Island. There, he shared with me his passion for grass-based livestock feeding. He knew that Roundup (Monsanto's herbicide) "destroyed microbes in soil." Those microbes are critical for plant, animal and human health. I hope Mr. Gompert's family will continue on his legacy by sharing his wisdom and insight with others. Mr. Gompert's too-early passing is a great loss to truly sustainable agriculture.
Sincerely,
Melinda Hemmelgarn, M.S., R.D.
