Since his passing in 2015, this time of year always delivers a tinge of sadness for me, as Bob and I were close neighbors and friends throughout our lives. Yet, this time of year also allows me to reflect on our past relationship and smile when remembering our love of sports and all the genuinely good times we had together with our families! Bob was always a first class guy and married Margie, a first class woman!

Five years have gone by since Bob’s passing but very often, the memories of our close friendship resonate in my mind. The laughs, time playing sports in the neighborhood in Wharton, and close family ties all are memories etched in my mind, now and forever more! Bob is missed by many but thankfully, remembering his spirit and love of life always brings a smile to all who knew him well!

Best friend growing up and into adulthood and later life. Miss always Bob's basic "down to earth" approach to life. Lots of baseball and sports memories and good times with him, Margie, and Carol. Bob worked in a "white collar" world but was always a "blue collar" guy at heart! Fond memories will last a lifetime!

Our deepest sympathy to the Schiffner family. Our son Chris played for Bob when he was a coach for the Mendham High School baseball team. He was a kind and supportive coach and we appreciated all he did for the boys. God bless. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

May you find solace in the fact that Bob was so respected and admired during his long and successful career - both as a professional and as a man. I had the honor to work with and for Bob at Nabisco - and it was so rewarding and fun. I will never forget when Bob and six other Nabisco Finance guys piled into my mini-van for a trip to a Yankee game. Bob was riding shotgun - always a leader - and showing me the shortcut out of the Stadium.
I am very sorry for you loss. He was special.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences on Coach Schiffner's passing. We were fortunate to meet while he was coaching the Mendham HS baseball team. The memories of a near 60 year friendship will never be extinguished. Rob was a man of intelligence, passion, wisdom while being successful in nearly all facets of life. Although working in a "white-collar" world, Rob was a true, blue-collar regular guy who'd rather be at a local hs sporting event than in a corporate boardroom. His friendship will be missed dearly.

I worked with Bob at Nabisco. He was much more senior in the organization than I was at the time. He built a world class Finance team from whom I learned a ton, likely contributing to the successes I had later in my life. He was such a highly respected man.

To The Schiffner Family...how fortunate I was to have grown up right around the corner from Bob. I can still see him taking many a practice swing in front of the storm door of his house trying to perfect his already perfect baseball swing. He became a role model for me and for many who were so fortunate to call him a friend. May the memories you have of him bring smiles to your faces and lift your heavy hearts for many years to come.
