STEPHEN GRIFFIN Obituary

Stephen W. Griffin Retired builder, of Long Valley Stephen W. Griffin, 67, passed away on Feb. 14, 2016, at Morristown Medical Center. Born in Morristown, N.J., to the late Gerald and Margaret (Yancho) Griffin, Mr. Griffin was a longtime resident of Long Valley. He was a self-employed builder for over 40 years until his retirement in 2010. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1970 to 1972. He was a quiet, caring gentleman who was dedicated to his family and loved the ocean and the beach. He will be remembered as a craftsman and collector, and for his creative mind that always pursued new and interesting things. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Edward, and Gerald. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, the former Marie Martinelli; his son, Matthew Stephen Griffin, and seven nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham, N.J. 07945 (973) 543-4720 www.baileyfuneral.com. A private service will take place at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephen's memory are requested by the family to a charity of one's choice.
