DAVID BOLAND Obituary

David J. Boland, Esq. Mr. David J. Boland, Esq., 75, died on Dec. 17, 2014, in Morristown Medical Center. Visiting is in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Ave., Verona, N.J., on Saturday, Dec. 20, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., with a service to begin at 4:30 p.m. Born in Orange, N.J., Mr. Boland lived in West Orange, N.J., for most of his life. In his youth, he was an accomplished violinist who was first chair in the National High School Orchestra representing New Jersey in 1956. Mr. Boland graduated from West Orange High School, Penn State in 1962 with a degree in mechanical engineering, Columbia University in 1964 with an MBA, and Seton Hall University Law in 1979. He was an attorney in private practice in West Orange. Mr. Boland served as a first lieutenant in the Air Force from 1964 to 1967. He was a member of the West Orange Historic Preservation Commission, the Sons of the American Revolution and the Society of Mayflower Descendants. Mr. Boland is survived by his sister, Janet Boeck; his niece, Donna McGinley and her husband, Daniel, and their children, Megan and Sean McGinley. Dave Boland was one of our most talented classmates in our Class of 1957 at West Orange H.S.

I spent most of my years in school with Dave, and I regret that his end of life came prematurely and with extended hospitalization.

I always liked Dave, but our lives parted after high school.
