Thomas V. Apostolico

Mr. Thomas V. Apostolico, 76, of Verona, N.J., passed away on peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013. The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Ave., on Monday, Oct. 7, at 8:15 a.m. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona, at 9:30 a.m. The entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, East Hanover, N.J. Mr. Apostolico was born in Newark, N.J., and resided in Verona for 37 years. He was a Newark police officer, retiring in 1986 as a lieutenant after 25 years of service. He was owner of Quality Fire Renovators, Bloomfield, and was also a master plumber. Mr. Apostolico owned many racehorses over the years. He was a 1955 graduate of Barringer High School, Newark, where he played varsity baseball and ran track and was the football quarterback. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Alice (nee Suozzo) Apostolico; his devoted children, Denise Hoffman and her husband, Lenny; Jim Apostolico and his wife, Gina, and Alice Ferrara and her husband, Robert; his loving sisters, Annette Apostolico and Ann Marie Apostolico, and his cherished grandchildren, Lenny Hoffman, Nicole Plaku and her husband Enea, T.J., Michael, Stephen and Kevin Guthire, Thomas, James, and Vincent Apostolico.
