IRENE TODD CANNON Irene Todd Cannon, 84, of Bolivia, NC passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at home. She was born in Horry County, SC, daughter of the late Dutch and Lessie Boyd Todd. She was a homemaker and wife of the late Reverend Leo Cannon. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, sewing and will be remembered for her many years of preparing southern feasts for family and friends where the food was blessed and the Lord praised. Surviving are her five children; Lana and Charles Whitby of Raleigh, Laddy Cannon of Bolton, Wenda and Steve Tyndall of White Lake, Nita and Terry Pritchard of Raleigh, Vesta and Henry Williams of the home; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; two sisters, Connie (Paul) Prince of Loris, SC and Lessie Ree (Marvin) Creed of Sumter, SC; and many extended family members. Special thanks to her loving caregivers of Coastal Companion Care of Southport and to Lower Cape Fear Hospice. The family will receive friends at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2919 Galloway Road, Bolivia, NC from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, August 29, 2013. The funeral services will be held Friday, August 30, 2013 at 10:00 am at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2919 Galloway Road, Bolivia, NC with the Reverend Anthony Clemmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Brunswick Memorial Gardens, Shallotte, NC. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
