"I remember visiting Uncle Joe and Aunt Carolyn the summer after my senior year of high school. I was considering becoming a Sister of Mercy and I needed to speak to him about this pursuit. It seems like yesterday that Uncle Joe encouraged me to follow my religious vocation. His gentle manner gave me a strength I didn't realize I had. I also remember going to the Catholic Church there and as such an ecumenical pastor, he permitted his little daughter, Ann, to accompany me. I remember, too, the fun our family had when we visited in the summer.
It is wonderful to have such loving and happy memories.
Love,
