MARYANN OAKLEY

ROBISON

Maryann Oakley Robison of Wilmington, NC, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at her residence.

She was born in Augusta, Georgia on March 18, 1937, the daughter of the late Forrest Marvin and Marguerite Hatcher Oakley. She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Jervey Oakley.

Mrs. Robison attended Limestone College and served as president of the Junior League of Augusta, Georgia.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Journey Sunday School Class, the Junior League of Wilmington, and the New Hanover County Medical Society Alliance. Mrs. Robison served as chairman of the 1986 Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Garden Tour, and a member of the board of directors for the Hospitality House, Friends of UNCW, and the New Hanover County Arboretum.

Mrs. Robison was employed by Sanco Homes for 16 years and by her son, Marvin Robison.

Surviving are her husband, Dr. William Peterson Robison; three children, Robert Dean Robison and wife Melissa of Gainesville, Georgia, Marvin Oakley Robison and wife Margaret of Wilmington, NC, and Marguerite Robison Williamson and husband George of Wilmington, NC; eight grandchildren, Forrest Taylor Robison, William Reid Robison, Ross Oakley Robison, Justin Hunt Williamson, Ryan McMillan Williamson, and Mary Anna Williamson, all of Wilmington, Robert Dean Robison, Jr. and Jacob Flanagan Robison, both of Gainesville, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, March 28, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church officiated by Dr. Ernest T. Thompson, III. Private interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Pastor's Fund, 125 S. Third Street, Wilmington, NC 28401 or William and Maryann Robison Nursing Scholarship at Cape Fear Community College, 411 N. Front Street, Wilmington, NC 28401.
