Thomas Brueck Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 19 to Jan. 20, 2010.
Brueck, Thomas "Bear" Tom, a dedicated husband, brother (best friend) and step-dad who loved, protected, and enjoyed spending time with everyone he knew. He always had a kind and encouraging word for family and strangers he met. He was an entrepreneur for 25 years as a mechanic and welder. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and enjoyed taking care of his lawn and trees. Tom enjoyed every day to the fullest with his family and friends. He looked at each day as a new adventure. He will be remembered for his quick wit and fun-loving sense of humor. The world will be less bright without him. He passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 17, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by father, George; mother, Lorraine; stepson, John Kalkes; mother-in-law, Lucille, and father-in-law, Elmer. Loved and missed by wife, Kathleen; sisters, Marlene, Sharon (John), Maxine, and Cynthia; stepchildren, Patty and husband John, Anni and husband Tim, and Mark; step-grandchidren, James, Michael, Andrew, Steve, Lacey, and Stephanie; step-great-grandchildren, Kylie and Kooper. Memorial Service Saturday, January 23, 11 AM at the Bertas Funeral Home, 200 W. 3rd St., Chaska. Family will receive friends 10-11 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor's choice. Bertas Funeral Home (952) 448-2137

Kathy,
My deepest sympathy goes out to you today. I was so sorry to hear of the lost of your husband.
Although it has been a long while, I can still remember the conversations about your backyard pool and all the time you and he spent together. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during these difficult times.

Kathy - The first time I met Tom I was kid and he scared the living crap out of me. It took all of 2 minutes and I realized he was a big teddy bear. I got to know him a little better on his Alaska hunt and he made me laugh until I cried most days. He was so much fun to be around. I'll miss his quick wit and one liners that came out of nowhere. I'm sorry for your loss, he was a great man. Chad Hayes (Anchorage, AK)
