Alice Faye Flink

Flink, Alice Faye A long time resident of Kenwood neighborhood in Minneapolis, MN, died peacefully Sunday July 25, 2010 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital from complications due to terminal lymphoma. Born in Oconto, WI on January 23, 1937 to Elizabeth and Earnest Sucharda, Alice received a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1960. Upon graduation she taught high school at Appleton and Kimberly, WI and Houghton, MI. She married Robert Flink in 1964 and they moved to Minneapolis in 1965. In Minneapolis, Alice was a successful realtor with Coldwell Banker and teacher in the Minneapolis Public School System's Adult Basic Education Program. Known for her big heart and spirit by her family, friends and neighbors, she is well remembered among a generation of 1970s and 80s WESAC, West and Southwest High School soccer players for her passionate and unique sideline cheers. Alice is survived by her husband Robert Flink, sister Barbara Erickson, son Carl Flink and grandchildren Jasmine, Willa, Marco, Kahlil, Iris and Freyja. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 6 at the Lakewood Cemetery Memorial Chapel. Visitation begins at 1:30 pm.
