Opsal, Gerald R. "Gerry" age 81, of Mpls, was born January 31, 1927. Passed away at the VA Home Saturday, January 24, 2009. Preceded in death by sisters, Marvel Johnson and Elaine Williams. Survived by wife of 58 years, Viviann Opsal; daughters, Debby (Steve) Holm, Suzanne (Robin) Oxley; son, Thomas (Ruth) Opsal; grandchildren, Peter (Cassandra), Ryan, Julia (Jeff), Kristopher, Abigail, Samuel, Susanna and Joseph; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Ardis Opsal; also many other relatives and friends. Gerry retired after 35 years with Buhler Inc. Faithful member of Park Avenue Covenant and Crosstown Covenant. Memorials are preferred to Crosstown Covenant. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Jan. 28, 11:00 AM with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at Crosstown Covenant Church, 5540 30th Ave. S., Mpls 55417. Interment to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will also be Tuesday, Jan. 27, 6-8 PM at: Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel 952-920-3996 West 50th St. & Hwy 100
