Dear Nancy;

We were stunned to hear of Phill's death. We had no idea that he was ill. I guess we've lost touch since moving to Florida. Pete has many fine memories of Phill at the Decathalon Club. We just wanted you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

Love, Pete & Eileen La Salle

Phil was one of my favorite associates at Pillsbury.Our path rarely crossed in our early years because we worked in different divisions but in later years we often talked at off-site meetings. I felt fortunate when I got him as a roommate because I could be assured of a friendly and congenial time and we would talk long into the night about things of mutual interest. He was such a good listener and interested in other peoples opinions.A true gentleman. My deepest sympathy to Nancy And Family.

My deepest condolences to Nancy, Phil and Karen. Mr. Lindau was one of the nicest Dads I grew up around. I ran into him a few years ago at the airport. I heard his unmistakable voice behind me and turned around and he flashed me his equally unmistakable smile. What a wonderful guy! My thoughts are with you all.

It was always a great day to run into Phil in the garage. We always had plenty to talk about. Hemi's, cars, sleds, boats, the lake. I still laugh when I think of him with that clown hair and yellow hat. He is one of a kind and I feel honored that we had become friends. May God watch over all of us. Steve

I've only known Phil for about a year now, and what I saw was a man of strength, determination, and a kind heart. I will miss his smile, and his morning greetings. God bless you Phil.

Phil is class personified. He was our boss when Tony and I were working for CSC back in 1993. CSC has been our oldest customer since we've been in the business and we have always enjoyed a great relationship with Phil. He is the kind of person that tells you just how he feels and appreciates someone who does a good job that helps him or his traders. Phil is highly respected in the Grain industry and has taught many on how to manage their operations by his example. Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family in this time of sadness, but they should know that Phil is in a better place and will watch over them.

As one of the steady intruders on Mr. Lindau's days and nights, he never had anything for me but a smile and a pat on the shoulder. I always felt welcome in his house. During a lunch with Phil Jr. just a few months ago, I got the same smile and the same pat on the shoulder after not seeing him for many years. It was he and Mrs. LIndau who gave me the priviledge of having wonderful childhood memories and a safe place to hangout for what must of been way too many hours. I know now that much of what I experienced was a man deep in his convictions about God, family and responsibility.

I thank God for knowing him and rejoice in his recent reunion with our Lord Jesus Christ. Now he's the one at the party and I'm at work trying to provide that same great example for my kids and welcoming their friends into my house with the same warmth and joy.

It makes me smile knowing that he and my dad, Tommy Thompson are probably already re-hashing one of the many ballgames they shared as fathers/fans to two boys who loved to play baseball together.

Congratulations Phil on a life that certainly pleased God and for leaving a legacy that lives on for those who had the honor and priviledge of knowing you and learning from you. Oh and Say "hi" to Jesus for me.

In Christ's name,

Bill Thompson
