Oaster, Mary E. (April 10, 1931 - March 29, 2010) On 3/29/2010, Mary Elaine (Spranklin) Oaster, age 78, of Burnsville, MN, and formerly of Baltimore, MD, died. Preceded in death by spouse, J. Thomas Oaster, Sr.; by beloved parents, Dr. & Mrs. F. William Spranklin, DVM; by mother and father-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Leo J. Oaster. Mary Elaine "Spanky" is survived by children, J. Thomas Oaster, Jr. (Mary), Karen Oaster (Ken Steele), Patty Mraz (Mark), William Oaster (Kay Ann Courrier); by grandchildren, Betsy, Katie, and Matt Mraz, Colby, Bennett, and Sydney Grace Courrier-Oaster; by sister, Barbara Johnstone; by brother, Rick Spranklin (Carole); by sisters-in-law, Barbara Oaster, Josephine (Bill) Kinnear, and Ann Marie (Bob) McCarthy; by brother-in-law Charlie (Virginia) Kimmel; by aunt, Helene Spranklin; and also by many loving relatives and friends. Mary Elaine attended Mount St. Agnes High School and College in Baltimore and served as class president. She was a member of Tau Phi Sorority. Mary was active in community service, and was a former board member of Ceridian Retirees Club and Summit Shores Homeowners Association, and a member of Ceridian and Apple Valley Women's Golf Leagues. Mass of Christian Burial 2 PM, on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4625 W. 125th St., Savage, MN. Visitation 4-8 PM on Monday, April 5 at White Funeral Home, 12804 Nicollet Ave. S., Burnsville, MN, and also at church one hour prior to Mass. Interment Pleasant View Cemetery, Burnsville, MN.
