Roger Clements Obituary

Clements, Roger William Roger William Clements, formerly of Minneapolis, died January 7, 2007 at his home in Altaville, CA where he lived for over twenty years. He graduated from West High in Minneapolis as well as the University of Minnesota with a degree in mechanical engineering. He served as a Lt. Commander of the USS Cardinal, a minesweeper, in the US Navy during WWII. Roger married Sherry Vaughn, also of Minneapolis, during his early days in the Navy. They lived in Minnesota, upstate New York, Tulsa, OK and Mandeville, LA during his working years with companies such as American Locomotive, Diesel Parts and Service, and Reagan Machines. He sold large engines for locomotives and for oil-related industries. A love for Model A and Mercedes Benz restoration provided many years of enjoyment for him. His wife, Sherry, predeceased him in 1989. Survivors include their three daughters: Julie Clements, DVM, of Altaville, CA; Laurie (Richard) Olsen of Edmond, OK; and Susan (David) Main of Sapulpa, OK. Others include eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marjorie Wezeman and cousin, Barbara Swanstrom, both of Edina; sisters-in-law, Lois Mackey and Margaret Vaughn of California. No services are planned. He will be buried at Sunset Memorial Park (Minneapolis) in the spring.
