I remember Bob standing by me when I was just begining to ring and encouraging me to attempt things I never dreamed I would one day successfully accomplish. Such a wonderful, sweet, and kind man. He will truly be missed.

Meeting and talking with Bob Stokes at ringing events over the last half-dozen years has been a real joy to me. His intelligence and gentle insights shone through his restrained nature. I had hoped we would have him among us for much longer.
