Hello to all of Susan's children. I know this guest book will be offline soon so I wanted to send a last message. Susan was such an important part of my life and I still think of her often as do many other people who knew her both at work and outside of work. I hope you all are well. Gerard P. Grillo

Asalamu Alaykom from Giza, Egypt,
My mother Anita was one of Susie's closest friends in the 70s. She was also a single mom minister---and at the time there weren't too many of those! They clicked and our families spent a lot of time together. I broke my left arm at their house in 1973! I remember helping to move her into her St. Louis Park home. She was full of hope for a new beginning and I'm glad to hear that she spent 10 years at the church there.
I remembered her years later when I worried whether or not I would be able to nurse my baby. I had to laugh! If little Susie Adams could nurse twins then I'd be OK.
She did have a struggle in this life. She did survive and lived a full life to the best of her abilities. I admire her for that. She loved her children immensely. She loved God even more. I only wish my mother had gotten a chance to say "goodbye" to her.

I have just learned today 6/20 of Susie's death in March. She and I were married while serving as short term missionaries in Pakistan in the early 1960's. Sadly our marriage did not survive subsequent turbulent waters. Happily, it resulted in the births of three exceptional daughtyers, Shireen, Sarah, & Samantha. Susie was an insightful and creative teacher and preacher. I thank God for her. I am so proud of the way our daughters loved and cared for her.

It was Gary Abraham, Susan Adams then me for most of
our school years.
I cherish her humor and share an example I've never forgotten. She simply wrote on the back of one of her note books: Bored of Education. I always thought that was extremely creative and remember her by it.
Never heard nor saw her after graduation day. Really kinda sad. That's how "farm kids" were . . . sturdy.
She enthralled me with her reports of her summer trips to California.
I never pictured her as a preacher; rather, I saw her as head of MMM or another huge corporation.
Daughters of Susan: Your Mom was smart, organized and focused.
My brother was infatuated with her but in true "farm boy" tradition, NEVER said a word.
I think I hear the school bell ringing; soon all of us will be back in our seats.

Susan was one of God's angels on earth for me as a mentor in Japan. I thank God that she was part of my life journey.

I worked as a teacher with Susan in Japan. She is a teacher's teacher. She was a very important mentor. She was the minister for my wedding. Her passing leaves a big empty place in our lives. I love you so much Susan. I always have and I always will. Gerard Grillo and family.

Susan was an amazing person--creative, compassionate, humble, always willing to stop and listen. Her presence as a classmate and friend was a special blessing to me in our seminary years and beyond. Blessings of peace to her family. Jean Eyrich Pennell

To Sue's Family,
We were saddened to see Sue's obituary in the Mpls. paper. We knew her when she was serving the church in Fergus Falls as well as at Union. Jerry and I spent time with her at Kobe College and toured Kyoto with her in 1992. She was a wonderful friend!

To Sue's daughters,
I am a member at Union UCC in St. Louis Park and was their C.E. Director for 20 years. Your mother sent some awesome resources from Japan for my work in the church. I have very fond memories of our times together over the years, and was blessed to have seen her in more recent years also. She was an incredible person and I am most grateful to have known her. My deepest sympathies.

Her presence, kindness, and stature exceeded her height by far. She and I attended the junior class prom together at the Bird Island High School in 1956.

I shall treasure memories of our friendship---over 30 years. Physical distance never meant emotional distance.
When we were together again, we just picked up wherever we left off. I love you, I feel privileged to call you friend and BABA mate.
