Chester McBride Obituary
SA Staff Sgt. Chester J. McBride III graduated from Statesboro High School, receiving his diploma in 2003. He also attended Savannah State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice, cum laude, in 2007.
On August 2, 2012, he received a Certificate of Graduation in the Criminal Investigator Training Program CITP-218.
On October 1, 2013, he received an associate's in applied science criminal justice from Community College of the Air Force.
He also graduated from Valdosta State with a masters of public administration on May 9, 2015.
Special Agent Staff Sgt. McBride loved his family and he especially adored his mother. His niece and nephew were his world.
He believed in the power of prayer. His mom would always tell him to pray and that is what helped him get through the times when he was away from home. He was looking forward to joining the FBI upon returning home.
He enjoyed playing football, basketball and working out.
On December 21, 2015, Special Agent Staff Sgt. McBride transitioned while serving our country in Bagram Airfield in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. Chester McBride Sr. and Mrs. Mamie Ruth McBride; and his maternal grandfather, Mr. Sam Burgest.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his father, Chester R. McBride Jr.; his mother, Annie L. McBride; one sister, LaTrell (Bryan) Zeigler; his maternal grandmother, Bernice Burgest-Roberts; a niece, Ryyia S. Zeigler; a nephew, Landon B. Zeigler, all of Statesboro, Georgia; two aunts, Sherry (Jimmy) Burgest, Sylvania, Georgia; and Debolia (Eugene) Wright of Statesboro; five uncles, Wendell McBride, Stanley (Judy) McBride, Kenneth (Patricia) McBride, all of Statesboro; Elton (Christine) Burgest and Terry Burgest, both of Florida; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Special Agent Staff Sgt. Chester JaMicheal McBride III will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Hanner Fieldhouse, 590 Herty Drive, Statesboro, GA, on the campus of Georgia Southern University. Burial will be in Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery, Highway 24 East, Statesboro, GA 30458.
Public viewing will be on Friday, January 1, 2016, from 3–8 p.m. at Agape Worship Center, 810 West Grady Street Extension, Statesboro, Georgia.
Professional services entrusted to A.L. Spaulding-Barnes Funeral Home of McRae, Georgia.

My deepest sympathy is to the McBride family. I was a friend of Chester and was very sad by the news as I know what you all meant to him. I know the time is tuff, but God and Chester is forever with you all. I pray God give you peace and understanding. Both Chester "Chess" McBride,Jr. and Anna McBride have my deepest sympathies on the loss of their son Chester McBride, III. Having worked with both "Chess" and Anna at different time periods, both parents are very dear to me and have been long time friends over the years.
