Sharon BYRON Obituary

BYRON, Sharon Moore

Sharon Moore Byron of Austin peacefully passed away January 24, 2015.

Sharon was born to Colonel (USAF) William Clarence and Marion (Hallock) Moore on February 12, 1947 at Hamilton Field, California.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Byron Alldredge of Austin, her sister Diane Moore Connell of Killeen, Texas, and brothers, William C. Moore, Jr. and Roxann Horton of Cape Coral, Florida, and Bruce Emerson Moore of Austin. Sharon also leaves behind a world of friends she made throughout her life.

Growing up in an Air Force family, she lived in places such as Tokyo in 1955, Honolulu, Hawaii, several times in Washington, DC, and graduated high school from Paris-American High School in Paris, France in 1965. Upon graduation, she attended Colorado State University. She lived in Washington, DC for 6 years and in 1974, moved to Austin, Texas where she and her father opened and operated The Tool Box, until they sold it in 1995. For the past 12 years, she worked in accounting at Ellis & Salazar.

Sharon will be remembered for her love of tennis - she not only loved to play, but enjoyed the local tennis tournaments as a spectator. She was an independent and strong-willed woman. She instilled her keen sense of right and wrong in everyone she knew. She kept her wit and sense of humor until the very end, and even today, continues to make us laugh through our tears.

A Celebration of Sharon's life will be held Tuesday, February 3 at 5:30 -7:30 p.m. at Balcones Country Club, located at 8600 Balcones Club Drive in Austin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Austin or a charity of your choice.

Dear Michelle and Diane: So sorry to hear this news. Though we knew each other only briefly, Sharon was very special to me and I'm sorry we could not do more. She is blessed to have such caring family. May time heal the pieces of your broken heart. Please stay in touch and let's honor Sharon at our Melanoma Walk in Sept 2015. Fondly, Dr. Sapna Patel

Sharon was the highlight of my work day. Every day she would come through the door at 3pm and I would say in my best impersonation from Seinfeld (Hello NEWMAN) Hello SHARON. And she would reply in kind, Hello KIM and we would laugh and laugh.... every day without fail. Then we would get busy with the important stuff... analyzing the top news stories of the day, critiquing the utter stupidity of it all, speculating, and solving all the worlds problems in a matter of 10 minutes. We were always puzzled why the Pentagon nor the White House never consulted us for our astute and wise council.
Then we would move on to much more ambitious en-devours... the endless world of invention.. oh how we had great ideas... only to be dashed day by day of google searches of someone else having had same ideas as ourselves and beating us to the punch. We were always shocked and amazed that there were people out there that were just as brilliant as ourselves.

What I loved about Sharon the most (apart from her quick dry wit) was her command for respect. She expected it because she deserved it. Her work ethic was impeccable. He loyalty superb. She was black and white and you never ever had to guess as to where she stood or where you stood in her opinions. She never backed away from adversity and stood her ground. I LOVED that about her and I learned so much from her, just by her example. She was a good friend and coworker. She entertained, educated and supported me.

Michelle and family, Sharon was a gem.

I miss you and love you Sharon. Give Jesus, Hailey and Rebecca a hug for me. I will see you in Heaven soon!

Every day Sharon would come through the door at 3pm and I would great her in my best Seinfeld impersonation (Hello N E W M A N) with Hello S H A R O N. She would respond in kind and then we would always laugh without fail! EVERY DAY!. She was my bright spot in the day. We would then immediately share what we had read in the daily news and contemplate, problem solve and criticize the utter stupidity of it all. Sharon and I together, figured out all the world's problems daily in a matter of about 10 minutes. We could never understand why the Pentagon nor the White House never contacted us for astute and wise council. We also were forever researching the next big invention. We came up with the grandest ideas only to have our hopes dashed REPEATEDLY upon google searches to discover there were others out there who were just as brilliant as us. This always shocked us to our core.

Sharon was such a realist and by the book black and white. I LOVED that about her. She taught me a lot not just about the world around us but she taught me a lot about myself. I admired how she commanded respect and didn't ever shy from controversy. She was self assured and confident. I delighted in it. She was my kinda girl.

I miss you and love you girly. Give Jesus and Hailey a hug for me.
