Barbara L. Pittman Barbara L. Pittman, 87, passed away peacefully in Spring, Texas on December 14, 2012, with loved ones beside her. She is now rejoicing in heaven with her beloved husband Galen and her sister Carol. Barbara was born on July 26, 1925 in the lovely, small town of Crooksville, Ohio to Fred and Gertrude Cannon. She loved traveling, attending her Faith United Methodist Church in Austin, swimming in the summers and reading her books and British magazines. Barbara leaves behind her brother Wally and Sarah Cannon of California; sister Shirley and Buck Harris of Ohio; daughter Sharon and son-in-law Steve Planto of Spring, Texas; son Craig of Houston, Texas; cherished friend Livier Suniga of Austin, Texas; grandsons David Planto and Chris and Amanda Planto from Spring, Texas. She was also blessed with four precious great-grandchildren; Bryce, Brynn, Mason and Breah. Barbara also dearly loved her childhood friends; Jean, Jeanie and Allene and all her friends and neighbors in Austin. We will forever miss our beautiful mother. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park located at 6300 W. William Cannon Dr., Austin, Texas 78749. Sharon and Steve,

It was a privilege to have met Barbara, and to be able to spend a few hours with her in her last days. I consider it no small thing to be able to say I knew her, if
only briefly. --John Holmes
