Rodney Waggoner Obituary

Rodney Waggoner Rodney was born in Buda, Texas on May 5, 1938. He was class of '57 from Buda High School. He went to work for the Texas Highway Department as a heavy equipments operator out of high school. He retired in 1990 due to health problems. He always lived in the country amidst his many and varied animals. He loved hunting and fishing. The last few years his greatest pleasure was drinking coffee with his coffee buddies, telling and listening to many tales. He also took great pleasure in helping young people achieve their dreams and goals. He lovingly cared for his many animals, especially his horse July. He was a self described "ole country boy". He was one of the best examples of "good ole country boys". He quietly helped anyone who needed it, without being asked. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mae Trogdon and Robert Newton Waggoner; brother, Robert, Jr.; sister, Janice Resa Waggoner and brother-in-law, Gillett Jones. Survivors are his former wife, Sandra Waggoner; son Randall Waggoner and wife Kathy; granddaughter, Tiffany Singleton; grandson, John Michael Singleton; son Rodney Waggoner and wife Tracy, their daughter Della; granddaughters, Nicole and Michelle Waggoner, their mother Denise Waggoner-Buckley; sister, Joy Waggoner Thedford; nieces, Sonia Sharifi and Stephanie Thedford, their father Wiley Thedford; sister Charlene Jones; nephew, Jeffery Cremers and wife Trish; sister, Arlene Porter & husband Duane; nieces, Jacquie Alexander and Janis Aguirre; two great nieces and four great nephews; adopted granddaughters Jessica Rager and Tessa Rager; grandson, David Rager; aunt Juanita Waggoner, many much loved cousins; coffee drinking buddies, J B Owens, Jim Hollis, Jack Engleke, Darrel Harp, Bryan Chandler, Brian Nivel, Carol Lee, Harold Sheely, Wayne Harned, Kyle Schurz, Wayne Harned, Kyle Schurz, Mark Brinkley, Jim Walgreen, Ronald Harp and Loyd Henning. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Buda United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, TX.
