Ben was definitely the best Scout Executive I had the opportunity to work with at the Longhorn Council in my 40-plus years of scouting. He inspired me to stick with scouting. Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of this tremendous leader.

Ben is gone but not forgotten. His legacy is assured as he most certainly made his mark in Scouting in the USA and abroad, and his contributions to our movement are many. Ben personally helped me in my time of need, and I will never forget his advice and assistance. He was a giant in Scouting. As a public speaker, Ben's booming voice was indeed inspirational. He will be missed. My condolences to Ann and the Love family.

Ben was a man of Character from start to finish. I met Ben in 1986 at Philmont when I was on staff, and he told me I was going to be in the profession. The one he loved to serve everyday. Ben recruited in in 1992 to the honorable profession of serving children. Ben's life is an example to all of us on how to life the Scout Oath and Law everyday. He will be missed but his legecy will life for ever with many of us. I am a better person to have known him. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family and Scouting.
