John MINTER Obituary

MINTER, John C.
John Claer Minter went to be with his Savior December 19, 2016, in Austin TX. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Jan; daughter Terry and Dave Smetana; daughter Karen and Dave Maxwell; son John and Lindy Minter; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

John graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth then Texas A&M in 1954 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and was commissioned into the U.S. Army, completing his military career as Captain. His career as a consulting engineer took him to Midland, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Madagascar, Yemen and Dallas. He finished his career with Hunt Oil Company as a Vice President of Engineering.

He was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church and a leader in the business world. He was a godly man and was known for his outstanding integrity and extravagant generosity. He loved his family, friends, and colleagues and was a mentor to many. His life will be celebrated at First Presbyterian Church, 1835 Young St, Dallas, 75201 on January 14 at 2:00 p.m., reception following. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Stewpot Ministry at First Presbyterian Church, Dallas or First Presbyterian Church, Richardson (271 N. Walton St, Richardson, 75081).
