Raymond LITTON Obituary

LITTON, Raymond M. "Ray"

July 8, 1931 to April 12, 2014

Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather departed this earth and passed into the arms of Jesus at the age of 82. Although it is heartbreaking to lose him we can't help but celebrate an amazing life well lived. He dedicated his life to Christ. His personal goal in life was to serve the Lord and his fellow man. He was an active member of the Westside Church of Christ in Round Rock and was an Elder in the Church for many years.

His life was full of accomplishment. He played professional baseball for four years. A graduate from Allen Military Academy with the most honors of any athlete in history of the school. Very active in youth organizations, he helped high school graduates obtain college scholarships. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Our Dad was very active in politics and the Democratic Party. He was elected Mayor of Round Rock for two terms after serving as City Councilman for three years. By unanimous vote, he was chosen as Citizen of the Year by the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce in 1974. Dad was City Manager of several cities in Texas including Cedar Park, Junction, Jonestown, and Overton. While serving as City Manager of Cedar Park he was also voted Citizen of the Year.

Ray is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Louise "Sue" Litton; sons Randell Litton and Russell Litton; daughters Brenda and husband David Pfuntner, Cynthia and husband Alan Zezulka and Janie Litton; fifteen grandchildren Scot, Tina, Rick, John Mark, Lissa, Farrah, Dean, Avery, Jason, Matt, Ashley, Sara, Jonathan, Zephary, and Zane; eight great grandchildren Kendra, Chloe, Ethan, Addison, Harper, Baylen, Adam and Amri. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. on Wednesday, April 16 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00A.M. on Thursday, April 17 in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis with interment to follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville.

No one displayed Christ to me better than you, Paw Paw. You pointed me to Him when I didn't want to know Him. Now I'm eternally grateful for your faithful example to me. I will see you in the Resurrection! I love you, your grandson scot

I miss you so much! There is a hole in my heart. Will it ever heal? I know that you are in paradise with our Lord but it still does not make the pain and heartache go away. I sit here late at night going down memory lane, sometimes I laugh, then I cry but my pain still does not go away. I cannot wait to see you again as you were and are a big part of my life. I love you so very much. Your loving daugher, Brenda
