Betty McClure Obituary

Betty Sue McClure Betty Sue McClure, 75, of Lewisville, Texas passed away Friday, January 20, 2012. She was born to the late Willard and Johanna Mitchell, October 15, 1936 in Knox City, Texas. Betty graduated as Salutatorian from Rochester High School. She married Jimmy McClure in 1956 in Haskell, Texas. Betty worked for Security Bank from 1964 - 1999. She loved her work and was passionate about helping and serving others. Betty was an active member for 45 years of the First United Methodist Church serving as Treasurer for 20 years in McCamey, Texas. She cherished family and friends and time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her grandson Patrick McClure of Lewisville. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Jimmy McClure of Lewisville. She is also survived by two children; son James McClure and his wife Kristi of Lewisville and daughter Melanie Patton and her husband Roger of Odessa, Texas. Betty has five grandchildren; Shasta Gomez of Austin, Texas, Meisha Overby and her husband Patrick of Odessa, Gennifer Stacker and her husband Jason of Odessa, Gerron McClure and his wife Christy of Odessa, and Kelli McClure of Austin. She also has five great-grandchildren; Ava Overby, Mason and Garrett Stacker, and Jacelyn and Brooklyn McClure. Betty's grace and giving spirit were an inspiration to all of those who knew her. Betty will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24th 2012 with Jim Smitherman officiating at Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Dalton and Son Funeral Home in Lewisville.

Betty was one of the greatest people I have ever met. She was grace and beauty inside and out. I always try to remind myself to act like she did, if I could be 1/10th of the person she was I would consider myself to be lucky. She will be greatly missed.
