Jason,I was so blessed to be your elem. coach for 4 years. You were always so well-mannered which was a reflection of your parents teaching you what it meant to be a good citizen. As you grew older you always exemplfied the qualities it took to be a model student and finally the distinquished Captain Holbrook. It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to you but at the same time my heart is filled with pride that you gave the ultimate sacrifice for the country that you so loved. Jason-
You will never be forgotten and there are no words that will suffice when it comes to thanking you for serving our great country and protecting those you loved. You made my cousin the happiest woman in the world, and I thank you for that as well. I still remember, and will never forget, the first time I met you, when Heather brought you to our house for dinner while you two were dating, and I asked you if you got paid for being in the Army (although I didn't mean it quite as it sounded). Your first impression of me was probably, "Are all Harpers this dump?" God bless you Jason and you will always be a part of our family.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of CPT Jason Holbrook. Jason was an officer, gentleman, warrior, and friend. I was always struck by the humility of this very talented man. Jason was a Soldier's Soldier, and his men were very loyal to him just as he was to them. He was a quiet professional who graced our ranks as he led by example. Geronimo.

August 7, 2010

I did not know Jason or his family at all. My family and I were driving from Lampasas to Marble Falls today and were greeted by hundreds of flag waving people on the roadside. We quickly figured out why as we read sign after sign and saw the KIA flag waving. I was absolutely moved to tears and had the chills as I could feel the love for this man from his community. My two young children asked many questions and then both talked about how thankful they were for Captain Holbrook and what he did for us. We are deeply sorry for your loss and appreciate more than words can express for his service.

To my brother Jason, I will never forget the day that you and I put that plane in a nose spin together, it spun so fast that we did a snap roll before entering a nose spin. You screamed like a girl and I froze taking what seemed like forever to get out of it. When we recovered the spin "you said that was fun, let's do it again!" I said "Not today." Love and Miss you so much already, see you when the good Lord calls me home. Love your brother Stoney Holbrook.

Godspeed to the entire Holbrook families who now will go through what we did, and know that God is with you also in very step trod, and every tear shed.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you go through this difficult time. We are proud and honored to have had such a wonderful person working for our country's freedom and safety and continue to be proud of the men and women carrying on with Jason's work. Your pain of his loss will never go away, but in time it will be less intense and your memories of his wonderful imprint on the life of each of you, and everyone he touched, will sustain and comfort you and you can remember him with love & pride for who and what he was. We may never understand why, but we must accept it as part of God's plan and be thankful that he is wrapped in the arms of the Lord. Our nation will forever be grateful for his sacrifice and love of his country. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn with you.
