Frank Dresen Obituary



Frank C. Dresen Frank C. Dresen passed away peacefully January 19, 2006, in Austin, Texas after a brief illness. He was born September 13, 1928, in Madison, Wisconsin and moved to McFarland, Wis., in 1965 before retiring to Texas in 1993. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn (Cary); daughters, Barb Iverson, Mt. Horeb, Wis., Dinny Lauger (Tom), Buda, Debbie Deininger, Villa Park, Ill., Peggy Rhea (Neal), Austin, and Elizabeth Dresen, McFarland, Wis.; grandchildren, Erik and Jodi Iverson, Tracy and Scott Lauger, Dan and Julie Deininger, Hannah and Christa Rhea, and Colin and Cody Kubicek. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Stella), Cross Plains, Wis.; sister-in-law, Mary Gay (Al) of Middleton, Wis.; and eight nieces and a nephew. Frank was an active member of Midvale Community Lutheran Church in Madison where he taught Sunday School and served on the church council. He entered the insurance business and earned his CLU designation. In 1964 he joined CUNA Mutual Insurance Group and retired in 1989. In 1965, the family moved to McFarland where Frank was active in local government. In Texas he and Cary joined Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and Manchaca United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Manchaca United Methodist Church, Manchaca, Texas. Memorials may be made to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center or the charity of your choice. Arrangements under the care of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Austin.
