My condolences to Peggy and all the Vasquez Family. I remember meeting Mr. Moses when I joined the Mexican Revolution band back in the 70's. We would actually practice @ The Tamale House located on what was then named EAST FIRST STREET. Many fond memories. May he rest in peace.
God Bless,
Johnny ~G~

On behalf of the family of the late Nash Hernandez, The Nash Hernandez Orchestra, we would like to express our condolences to the Vasquez family for their loss. My father considered Mr. Vasquez a friend and fellow musician. He, and all us, always enjoyed having Moses sit in with the orchestra, as well as watching them enjoy their conversation when he came over to our house for a visit. The picture in the Austin Statesman (8/15/14) of your dad singing and my dad playing his trumpet conjures up a nice vision of them now sitting in heaven, catching up on each other, and doing a rendition of Spanish Eyes sung by Moses with my dad playing along with his trumpet.

To everyone in the family, but especially to Kathy, I pray that you find strength in God's promise and Mr. Vazquez' wonderful memory. I'm sorry that I will not be able to attend funeral services, but I am with you in prayer.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Moses. I knew him as Jimmy Moses, a great singer who sounded a lot like Ray Price. I played fiddle in a band he put together when he bought Ed's 281 club in the mid-80's. I first met him at Jess DeMaine's open mike night at Hondo's on Guadalupe. He always brought tacos and tamales for the musicians. He was a very friendly fellow and I'm glad he lived a long life. RIP Jimmy Moses. Keep swingin'.
