Darrell Propst Obituary
December 16, 1961 - May 29, 2012
SALEM - A welder and fabricator. Worked for Hanard machine for 17 years. He as a real jack of all trades. Moved to Oregon in 1989 from Virginia. Met the love of his life Lena in 1990 and they were married in 1993. Darrell was a member of the Elks and Eagles lodges. He enjoyed camping, cutting wood, tinkering', and gold panning. He was a collector of many things. A talented gardener and rock hound. Darrell always found the best deals in town and utilized them to the fullest. Survivors include his father Dennis Coakley of Virginia, mother Elizabeth Hall of Virginia, wife Lena Propst of Salem, Oregon, daughters Shanna Ford of Lake Tapps, Washington, Amy Watts of Salem, Oregon and granddaughter Isabelle Watts of Salem, Oregon. He will always be remembered for his big heart, humor the love he had for his family and friends, his hard work ethic and his one liners. Celebration of Life will be 12:00pm Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Salem Elks Lodge 2336 Turner Rd. Salem, OR. Arrangements entrusted to Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence.

Lena and Family,
Darrells service was special. He was both a friend and patient and a very special man. We were planning to hunt for Holly Blue agate this summer.
He had also done special things foe me. I for one miss him. Prayers and blessings are flowing to you and family from Ed and Nancy Merzenich

Dear Lena, coming across this sad news my heart is heavy & my throat has a big painful lump in it! I'm sorry for your loss. As co~workers @Guerdons in the mid 90's, getting acquainted with you & Darrell/watching your playful, silly, loving interactions; always, made me smile. May your days soon be filled with smiles, replacing tears of grief. Peace & prayers for healing be with you and your family.
