Anne McKillip was an exceptional woman and an outstanding teacher. As people have already noted, she had a reputation for being strict and the kids referred to her as "Killer McKillip." At the end of 4th grade, when I learned she would be my 5th grade teacher, I was scared. I shouldn't have been. As it turned out, Mrs. McKillip was the most significant teacher of my childhood. She ignited my love of learning. Under her tutelage reading became a joy rather than a chore. I can't say enough about this amazing woman who had such an impact on my life. Thank you, Mrs. McKillip, for the gifts you gave to the children of Salem who were lucky enough to have you as a teacher.

Mrs. McKillip wasn't my 5th grade teacher but I remember doing the copper mural. She was strict with the kids but in a way that we knew where the boundaries were. My condolences to her family.

I am sure Anne wouldn't remember me but I certainly remember her. I was in Mrs. Burch's class in 1976. I remember how much a loved that map she had printed on the blacktop and how it has contributed to my love of geography today! I also participated in the copper mural and I was artistic (I am an art teacher today) so she made sure I had the opportunity to carve an eagle. She was very kind to me and I am sure she impacted many other lives as she did mine.

Mrs. McKillip was my 5th grade teacher. I remember the copper mural and I remember Megan from outdoor camp. She was a strict teacher (which is a good thing), and very fair. RIP Mrs. McKillip.

Anne was very gracious and welcoming when my family moved to Salem. She thoughtfully eased the transition for Kim by finding a friend her age. Some of the nicest conversations I have had were with her.

Megan, we are so sorry to hear of your loss. I have missed your Mom so much sitting beside me at church. As you know, Donna loved her as her 5th grade teacher. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your brothers.

Mrs. McKillip was my 5th grade teacher as well as a fellow tenor in the church choir. I will remember her fondly.
