Mack Newberry Obituary
Born on Sept. 28, 1924, in Port Arthur, Texas, he moved to St. Augustine in 2000. A graduate from Northwestern University in Broadcast Journalism, Mack worked in radio and television, then ultimately became a publicist in the entertainment industry. He lived life to the fullest, completely enjoying his work, his family, and retirement. Mack was a doting father and grandfather.
He is survived by his brother, James Newberry; daughters, Pattison Brennan (Terry), Juli Newman (Scott); and grandchildren, Christopher, Schafer, and Ellie Newman as well as very special friend, Dr. Clare Beaumont.
Mack is preceded in death by his beloved dog Jack, and parents, Clyde and Estelle Newberry from Nederland, Texas.
A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donation honoring Mack Newberry to Council on Aging, 180 Marine St., St. Augustine, FL 32084.
We would like to make a special tribute to Vitas Hospice who lovingly provided very special care at the end of Mack's journey here on earth.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mack was a great brother-in-law who wrote some of the best Christmas letters ever. We will dearly miss his humor and wit.
