Jack Mathena Obituary

Captain Jack Mathena Jr. passed away Friday, Aprill 22, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. in the hospital in Lynchburg, Va. Captain Jack as he was called by his friends, was most happy when he was at sea, whether it be fishing with his kids, running a scuba diving charter company, or relaxing on one of his boats. Besides running the Miss Lindsay and Cindy Lou for Lynnhaven Dive Center, he had a successful career as a carpenter and home builder both in Virginia Beach and Palm Coast, Fla.

Jack was a generous man with many friends and a loving family. He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mathena, Sr.

His children will dearly miss him and are: Justin Wilms Mathena and his wife Sandra of Virginia Beach, Brittany Linn Mathena of Virginia Beach and Dillon Jay Mathena of St. Augustine, Fla. He is survived by his sister Donna Cason of Virginia Beach, and Ronnie and Tommy Mathena of Danville, Va., as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as a man with a big heart who has at last found his Peace. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Beach Funeral Home, 4456 Bonney Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
